How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s for anyone curious about growth, clarity, or navigating life’s changes with more support and self-awareness.

What can I expect from the first session?

What can I expect from the first session?

The first session is a gentle starting point. You’ll talk with your therapist about what brings you here, what you’re hoping for, and what feels comfortable for you right now.

Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?

Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?

No, we only offer online or over the phone to help cost down and make the support accessible to you anywhere. No driving to town for an appointment or struggling to fit it in. Do it from home, work, or even your car at a time that fits you.

What if I cancel or miss an appointment?

What if I cancel or miss an appointment?

That does happen. We have all been there and that why you get ONE "freebie." But otherwise its a 50 dollar space held fee for a late cancellation or a no show. We do this because its easy to talk yourself out of appointments if they are "free." Counselling is not always easy or enjoyable - it can be downright hard. But the space held fee shows the importance of your time and mine.

How often should I come to therapy?

How often should I come to therapy?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come weekly, others bi-weekly or monthly. You and your therapist will decide what feels right based on your needs and pace. The general rule of at least once a month. Any longer then that create a disconnect.

Is everything I share kept private?

Is everything I share kept private?

Yes. Your sessions are completely confidential, except in rare cases related to safety. I am legally obligated to go outside the bounds of privacy if : you are a harm to yourself, you are a harm to others or the abuse or neglect of dependent others. This is standard across all counsellors and other professionals.

In the instance you would like a referral, I would discuss that with you first and have you sign a consent form first.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

That’s okay. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Sometimes just showing up is the most important first step — that is where I step in and will start asking more questions to get the chat started. sometimes talking about your day brings up something to focus on.

Progress doesn’t always feel like progress. Sometimes it’s showing up. Sometimes it’s pausing. But each moment of awareness becomes part of the path forward — and you don’t have to walk it alone.
